Details

II GV 2. A C16 timber-framed and plastered house considerably altered in the C18 and Cl9, but retaining its original half H plan sham (with additions ), The cross wings at the east and west ends are jetted on the lst storey 4 window range arranged 1:2:1, double-hung sashes with glazing bars, There is a central early C19 portico with fluted Tuscan columns and pilasters and a flat modillian cornice hood. The doorcase has a reeded architrave With darner roundels. Roof slate, with a coved plaster eaves cornice to the centre block, a C16-C17 chimney stack at the rear and another old chimney stack at the east end.
The Church of St Andrew, Sandon Place and Outbuildings at Sandon Place with The Forge,` Post Office and Cottage east of Post Office, Woodhill Road and The Crown Inn, Sandon Green form a group.
