Office. 1910. By Sir Frank Wills. Portland ashlar, brick lateral stacks, roof not visible. Double-depth plan. Edwardian Baroque style. 3 storeys and attic; 5-window range. A symmetrical front has a banded ground floor to a moulded plat band, upper floors with recessed centre section, a deep moulded string below a modillion cornice, and balustrade. Ground floor has 4 semicircular-arched openings with scrolled keys and coved surrounds, doorways to the ends with double 6-panel doors, the centre panels with moulded cills and small pediments, and plate-glass fanlights, and small canted metal-framed bays to the middle ones. The central section above has a shallow 3-light bay to the first floor with attached Ionic mullions and an entablature, a plinth band above with festoon to a second-floor Diocletian window with blocked archivolt, plain mullions with festoon, and a large key; outer windows have moulded cills and architraves, semicircular-arched on the second floor, with a raised panel between with festoon. Plate-glass sashes. INTERIOR: C20 ground-floor office; right-hand lobby has a glazed screen and doors, to a stair hall with an open-well stair containing a lift shaft. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a large clock pedimented with ornate wrought-iron brackets attached to the first floor right of centre.
