Details
STOKENHAM CHILLINGTON SX7942 Allerdale Farmhouse 13/199 including Front Garden Area Wall Gate Piers and Gate II
Farmhouse. Circa early C19, possibly with earlier core. Rendered stone rubble, painted stone rubble rear wing. Asbestos slate hipped roof. Rendered side stacks with twinned red clay pots. Plan: Probably a double depth plan with principal front rooms either side of an entrance to left of centre and with a circa early C19 wing at rear returning to form a small back yard. Exterior: 2 storeys. 4-window south front symmetrical but far doorway to left of centre, with wooden modillian eves. Cornice with a key motif frieze. C19 4-pane sashes. Doorway to left of centre with early C19 fielded and flush panel door and later C19 gabled wooden lattice porch with a slate roof. The rear wing returns one bay with a lean-to roof and has an early C19 flush and reeded 6-pane door and early C19 12 and 16-nine sashes with slate sills. Including front garden area retaining wall, probably C19, slate rubble, curved back at right hand end where there is a pair of dressed slate gate- piers both moulded caps and a later C19 cast-iron gable with spear-headed finials. Interior: Not accessible.
