7/92 (inset) Holmside Hall 17/1/67 Farmhouse with wall attached

GV II

House and wall. Early C19 incorporating medieval fragments; late C19 and C20 alterations. Painted render and ashlar dressings; rear thinly-rendered sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings; roof of graduated slates with stone gable copings. Wall attached at left coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and coping. House 2 storeys, 3 bays. Steps up to central renewed door and high overlight in plain stone surround; similar surrounds to sash windows, tripartite in outer bays; all with margined lights. First-floor sill band. Roof has moulded kneelers supporting flat gable copings; banded end chimneys. Rear has one-storey, 2-bay wing with probably medieval battered wall incorporated in left return.

Wall attached to left front corner of house extends to left separating garden from entrance track, and has flat stone lintel over boarded door in raised section beside house.
