Details
The following building shall be added to the list:
COLN ST ALDWYNS - SP 10 NE 4/171 North-west barn on staddle stones at Williamstrip Farm GV II Threshing barn raised on staddle stones. Dated TS 1806 (inscribed on wall post). Corrugated iron and C20 boarding over timber frame with gabled roof. 5-bay plan with central threshing floor and rear outshut. Exterior has C19 plank double doors clad in corrugated iron to north-east elevation and single door to rear outshut. Interior: exposed timber frame of light scantling with diagonal wall bracing; braced wall posts with hollow-moulded jowls to butt- purlin trusses (struts removed). Included as a rare survival of a raised threshing barn, once common in central southern and western England, but now rare.
