Details
HAMSTERLEY THE GREEN NYll3l (North side) 23/59 Plane Tree Cottage and walls attached GV II House. Circa 1840. Thin courses of squared sandstone with painted ashlar dressings; roof of graduated stone flags with stone gable coping. 2 storeys, 3 bays.
Central 4-panel door and margined overlight under flat stone lintel; wood- bracketed gabled hood has shaped bargeboards. Flat stone lintels and thin projecting sills to late C19 sashes in outer bays. Eaves stone gutter blocks. Roof has banded end chimneys. Left return has small window on ground floor towards front. Rear pent one-storey outshut.
Wall attached at left to full ground-floor height has wide stone coping and is ramped down to garden gate c, 5 metres in front of house; wall at lower height continues around garden.
