- II
Aisled barn within a small farmstead group. Mid C17. Timber- framed and weather boarded with a clay pantiled roof. 6 bays: a later cart entry in the 3rd bay from the west. Roof in 6 bays, corresponding to bays of frame: diminished principals, deeper, but no wider than the common rafters; clasped purlins and slightly cambered collars to trusses; shallow windbraces to each bay, and an intermediate collar to each bay also; a deep, narrow ridge piece. Over the aisles the rafters have been renewed. Main posts with long shallow jowls, slightly arched braces to arcade plates and tie-beams: all components pegged, but with additional later bolting. The arcade posts stand on low dwarf walls and have side-ties to the aisles and diagonal struts to the aisle rafters. A few smaller components are reused. The 2 end walls have thin bisected studs and long primary braces, and may be of later date than the rest of the frame.
