TOLL BRIDGE ROAD 656-1/2/911 (East side) Brewery House (Formerly Listed as: LONDON ROAD WEST (South side) Avondale Factory) 11/08/72

GV II

Brewery, now offices. Mid C19. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar with slate roof. PLAN: Complex plan in three main blocks with C20 additions. EXTERIOR: Two, three and four storeys, seven-window front. Original openings have segmental arches and with rock-faced keystones and probably had cast iron fixed frames. Three openings to ground floor centre have C20 plate glass. Two-storey left hand block to north has crested roof with forward-facing gable. Central block four storey, three-window range gabled tower with C20 balcony to apex. Three-storey right hand block has C20 weatherboarding and glazing to upper storey, original openings to first floor over C20 flat-arched plate glass windows to lower ground floor. Right return of this block four storeys with C20 windows with further two-storey range to rear. INTERIOR: Not inspected.
