Thematic Research Strategies

Our internal thematic research strategies help us shape our internal and commissioned research programmes and provide context for our applied research.

 

We are in the early stages of preparing a marine and coastal strategy for Historic England and further information on this will be available later in 2015.

A number of older thematic research strategies are available. Some of the key priorities identified in these strategies have been addressed as part of the National Heritage Protection Plan (2010-2015) but others remain to be taken forward.

We believe these strategies contain information of interest to those carrying out applied research in these areas, so we are making these documents available here. Research topics identified in these older strategies do not necessarily remain priorities for Historic England.
