Past Reports

Heritage Counts has been collecting data on the state of the historic environment since 2002. All previous national, regional and research reports are available to download through this website.

Each year Heritage Counts focuses on a particular theme within the historic environment and commissions research in support of that theme. This includes research on the economic impact of heritage led investment, heritage and sense of place and skills.

Please visit the Historic England research pages or Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) website for more general information on the social and economic evidence base for the historic environment.
