Ethel Booty, née Lawson (1873-1964)
Ethel Mary Lawson was born in Lambeth, London in 1873. She was married in India in 1897 to a judge in the Indian Civil Service. By 1911, Ethel had returned to England, living in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.
Ethel contributed photographs to the National Buildings Record. Those held at the Historic England Archive were taken between 1940 and the 1960s.

Ethel's photos focus on church architecture, particularly Norman fonts, as well as castles, ruined priories and picturesque villages in the south of England.
