Middleton Quarry, Middleton, Warwickshire: Tree-Ring Analysis of Bog Oaks

Author(s): Alison Arnold, Robert Howard

Tree-ring analysis of samples from eight trees at this site produced a single site chronology comprising six of the seven samples which were measured. This site chronology has an overall length of 132 rings. Neither this site chronology, nor the single remaining measured but ungrouped sample, could be dated. Although undated, it is likely that nearly all the trees represented were growing close to each other, but that they fell at slightly different times, and that once fallen have not been transported very far.
