EXAMINATION AND ANALYSIS OF A SAXON GLASS BEAD FROM UPTON, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE.

Author(s): M P Heyworth

A single polychrome glass bead from Upton was examined and shown to be a cylinder form usually dated to the late sixth century AD. The colours in the bead included light green and opaque black, opaque red and opaque yellow. The composition of the bead suggests it originated from within the Germanic tradition of northern Europe.
