IDENTIFICATION OF FIBRES FROM AN ANTIQUE CARPET

Fibres from a carpet, thought to be from around the 13th to the 15th century and possibly of Mongolian design were sent to the Ancient Monuments Laboratory for identification. Four knots of carpet pile were received and each knot was a different colour: blue, rust, yellow and brown.
