TREE-RING ANALYSIS OF MEDIEVAL AND POST-MEDIEVAL TIMBERS FROM 16-22 COPPERGATE, YORK, NORTH YORKSHIRE.

Author(s): J Hillam

This report concludes the series of reports on the dating of the Coppergate timbers. It describes the analysis of the 125 medieval and post-medieval timbers. Many of the samples were unsuitable for dating, and the dating of the remainder proved difficult with the result that less than half of the suitable timbers have been dated. Details of the dates are given, and reasons for the poor success rate are discussed.
