Archaeological survey for management purposes of part of Hatfield Forest, following a request from the National Trust. The area studied comprised the site known as the Warren and an open area lying to the north between the Forest Lodge and the Shermore Brook which was known to contain a number of archaeological features. Hatfield Forest lies in the parish of Hatfield Broad Oak in the Uttlesford district of north-west Essex; the principal monument - The Warren - is centred at National Grid Reference.
