Chapel Porth, St Agnes, Cornwall: Report on Geophysical Survey, March 2023

Author(s): Andy Payne, Megan Clements

An earth resistance survey was conducted at Chapel Porth, St Agnes, Cornwall, in advance of erosion repair works over the scheduled remains of a medieval chapel. The survey (0.04ha) located the chapel walls and the possible location of a post-medieval guard hut. Additional evidence for potential wall robbing, wall underpinning and animal burrowing, together with natural geological and topographic variations, have also been identified. The likely influence of compacted material associated with extant footpaths is also evident in the data.
