Manor Farm Barn, Bierton with Broughton, Buckinghamshire: Dendrochronological Analysis of Oak Timbers

Author(s): Ian Tyers

A tree-ring dating programme was commissioned on timbers in Manor Farm Barn, Bierton with Broughton, Buckinghamshire. The results identified that only two timbers in the structure were datable by tree-ring dating techniques, one of which was evidently reused from a late-twelfth or early thirteenth-century structure. Another timber of later fourteenth-century date appears to be original to the present form of the barn. This dating evidence was commissioned to inform planning decisions for this Grade II* listed structure, that is on the Buildings at Risk register. This report archives the dendrochronological results.
