An Earthwork Survey and Investigation of the Parkland at Battle Abbey, East Sussex

Survey and field investigation was carried out by G Brown, M Bowden. S Connor, and D Field over a period of fifteen days. It was undertaken in two phases: first, the area immediately to the south-west of the Guest Range was surveyed at a scale of 1:1((X). This involved a closed traverse of Inline stations from which a control network was established and the archaeological and topographical features were plotted. Taped offsets were used to survey the finer detail.
