THE CHARRED PLANT REMAINS FROM A MEDIEVAL TENEMENT AT WARWICK, BRIDGE END.

Author(s): L C Moffett

Charred plant remains were examined from six phases of a Medieval tenement located on a road near the back of Warwick Castle. Rivet wheat, bread wheat, rye, oats and barley were found as well as beans, peas, hazel and apple or pear. Some of the weed seeds present have different soil preferences and suggest that the crops may have been grown on several soil types.
