EXCAVATIONS AT IPSWICH, SUFFOLK. AN ASSESSMENT OF THE FAUNAL REMAINS

Author(s): P M Stevens

It has become clear that it would be too time-consuming to record the enormous quantity of excavated animal bone from the sites at Ipswich using the Ancient Monuments Laboratory system (Jones, et al., 1979). A total of 92,000 bones have already been recorded by this method and this paper discusses three possible ways by which the remaining material could be processed. A brief analysis of some of the material already recorded is included in the appendices.
