SKELETONS OF TWO CATTLE AND A DOG FROM FOUNTAINS ABBEY, NORTH YORKSHIRE.

Author(s): T P O'Connor

The report describes cattle and dog skeletons from 1987 excavations at Fountains Abbey. Both cattle were immature, and it is argued that they were of 'Improved' type, and 18th century in date. The dog was of similar size and build to a wolf, and had previously survived a severe blunt instrument wound to its head.
