Monks Walk, 19 Highgate, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire: Tree-ring analysis of oak timbers

Tree-ring analysis of samples taken from the front range of Monks Walk resulted in the construction of two site sequences. Site sequence BEVBSQ01 contains four samples and spans the period AD 1463–1591. Interpretation of the sapwood suggests felling of all four timbers represented in AD 1591 demonstrating work being undertaken within this part of the building at the end of the sixteenth century. The second site sequence, comprising two samples, is undated, as are the remaining individual series.
