THE HUMAN REMAINS FROM THE GOBLIN WORKS, ASHSTEAD, SURREY.

The description of the human remains in this report complement those in an earlier report (AML Report 81/88). During further excavations at the Anglo-Saxon site, eleven further inhumations were uncovered and an amount of disarticulated bone. Five of the burials were pagan and the remaining six were executed criminals. Five of the pagan skeletons were adult and one was of a child. Of the adults, two were male, one female; the sex of the remaining skeleton could not be determined. Three of the execution victims were male, one was female and the sex of the two remaining skeletons could not be determined. Two of the skeletons had dental caries and one had a swelling on the tibia, the exact nature of which could not be determined.
