REPORT ON THE SLAGS RECOVERED FROM THE 1964-66 EXCAVATIONS AT BIRCH ABBEY, ALCESTER, WARWICKSHIRE.

The areas examined revealed Roman settlement dating to the 2nd to 5th centuries AD. About 25kg of smithing debris was kept as a sample, the majority of which was associated with a possible smithy structure. No elemental/mineral analyses were carried out.
