Approximately 75Kg of material excavated from St. George's Street in 1985 and consisting of fired claycopper alloy waste, and mould and crucible fragments were examined. Samples of copper alloy waste and mould fragments as well as the crucible sherds were examined qualitatively by x-ray fluorescence. The results of these investigations are discussed and the nature of the metalworking industries represented by the material is outlined.
