TREE-RING STUDIES IN THE SOMERSET LEVELS: POSSIBLE HURDLING ON WALTON HEATH, 1983.

Author(s): R A Morgan

Hazel rods and sails from a possible dismantled hurdle, found not far from Walton Heath track, were examined. They revealed a size uniformity of 15-25mm diameter, and a wide age range of 2-16 years. However an increasein the number of stems aged 4 years suggested some previous cutting activity.
