ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH PRIORITIES FOR HUMAN REMAINS FROM SOUTH-EAST ENGLAND (KENT, EAST AND WEST SUSSEX AND SURREY)

Author(s): Simon Mays

This paper details some of the information potentially available from the study of human bones and the ways in which this information may be limited by various factors affecting the nature of an assemblage. Priorities for archaeological work on human remains from the south- eastern counties are suggested in the light of the present state of work and the potential of bones from the area. A gazetteer of sites from the south-east for which bone reports have been prepared is appended.
