Tree-Ring Analysis of Timbers from Stocks Mill, Wittersham, Kent

Author(s): Alison Arnold, R R Laxton, Cliff Litton

Analysis of nine samples taken from timbers of this windmill resulted in the construction of a single, undated, site sequence, incorporating five timbers. Tree-ring dating of timbers from Stocks Mill has proved unsuccessful at present. This is most likely to be due to the small number of existing relevant reference chronologies with which to match timbers of the late eighteenth century.
