LONGHAM, NORFOLK; CARBONISED PLANT REMAINS FROM BEAKER, BRONZE AGE AND IRON AGE CONTEXTS

Author(s): P Murphy

Samples from Beaker and Early Bronze Age pits produced assemblages resembling those common in Neolithic contexts : Corylus nutshells, occasional cereal grains, a few week seeds and root/rhizome fragments (cf.Moffett et al 1989). Iron Age features produced low density scatters of material derived, in part, from crop processing in the vicinity.
