TREE-RING ANALYSIS OF TIMBERS FROM UPPER HARDRES BARN, HARDRES COURT, UPPER HARDRES, KENT

Author(s): Robert Howard, R R Laxton, Cliff Litton

Seven samples from Upper Hardres barn were analysed by tree-ring dating. This analysis produced a single site chronology consisting of two samples, with 111 rings. Although this site chronology was compared with a full range of relevant reference chronologies, there was no satisfactory cross-matching. Each of the five remaining ungrouped samples was also compared with a full range of relevant reference chronologies, but again there was no satisfactory cross-matching. This site must therefore remain undated
