Cleeve Abbey, Somerset: Mitigation of Theft and Fabric Survey, 1996 -1998

Author(s): Tony Wilmott

In 1996 a number of medieval tiles were stolen from the in situ pavements at Cleeve Abbey. A team from the then Central Archaeology Service (CAS) of English Heritage recorded the damage and assisted with conservation. As part of the ongoing recording and consolidation of the Abbey, the CAS was commissioned to undertake fabric recording on the boundary walls to the Long Orchard.
