TREE-RING ANALYSIS OF TIMBERS FROM WESTON COURT BARN, WESTON, HEREFORDSHIRE

Author(s): Nigel Nayling

A dendrochronological survey, carried out to date the primary construction of this grade II listed cruck barn, led to the dating of two timbers, a crown strut and a single cruck blade, indicating felling of the parent trees in the date range AD 1470- AD 1501. Hence construction in the last quarter of the fifteenth century is indicated.
