MALLOWS COTTON, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE: REPORT ON MAGNOMETRIC SURVEY, 1991

Author(s): G Fookes

This survey extends previous magnetic coverage of an Iron Age and Roman site undertaken by the Northants Archaeology Unit in 1989. A dense and complex pattern of subsurface features was located, dominated by a number of concentric ditches surrounding and overlapping with evidence for occupation including hearths, pits and possible hut sites. Several phases of activity are no doubt represented and it is probable that some medieval features have also been located. Further survey results are awaited.
