ORGANIC MATERIAL ASSOCIATED WITH METALWORK FROM CASTLEDYKE, BARTON, SOUTH HUMBERSIDE

Author(s): Glynis Edwards, Jacqui Watson

The examination of metal grave goods from this Anglo-Saxon cemetery has revealed organic material preserved by the metal corrosion products. Evidence has been found for belts, knife handles and scabbards, spear shafts, caskets, vessels and one container. A discussion is followed by a catalogue of the 1989 and 1990 material and the catalogue of the 1982 material (AML Report 4326 July 1984) is included as an appendix.
