Nos. 11 and 12 High Street, Wisbech, Fenland District, Cambridgeshire

Author(s): P Smith

This brief report was commissioned by Ian Harper, EH Architect in the East Region, who has been dealing with this problematic pair of listed buildings. A recent collapse of the roof of No. 11 has caused massive damage internally. We were asked to assess the architectural quality and survival of these two interesting town houses. This report concentrates on interpreting the architectural development of the property through a detailed internal inspection of the fabric. Sections of the building will need to be partly demolished before repair work can begin and this report will help to inform these difficult decisions. This building has been threatened with the serving of a Dangerous Structures Notice by Fenland District Council.
