East Kennett Long Barrow, Wiltshire

Author(s): Susan Greaney

Between April and May 2005 English Heritage undertook an archaeological investigation and analytical survey of the East Kennet long barrow to improve understanding of this significant monument through observing subtleties in its surface morphology and investigating its landscape context. Detailed survey was also needed to inform management and conservation plans, particularly in the light of on-going discussions about extending the boundary of the Avebury World Heritage Site. (This report was originally numbered 10/2005 in the Archaeological Investigation Series.)
