Bastion 14 on City Wall, Oxford, Oxfordshire

This tower is built into Oxford's city wall. The first wall was probably built in the 9th-10th century. It would have been to protect the town from the Danes. This tower probably dates from when the walls were rebuilt between 1226-1240. It is one of the best preserved sections of wall from this date.
