Coal staithes, Canal Basin Complex, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

This picture shows the coal staithes incorporated into the railway that served the Sheffield Canal Basin. This structure was built in about 1855 but fell into a state of disrepair. It was restored by Sheffield City Council in 1983, although it is no longer operative.
