Easington Colliery School, Easington Colliery, Durham

This School classroom block was designed in 1911-13 by J Morson of Durham in a Baroque style. It was part of the Girls block at Easington Colliery School in Seaside Lane. According to Kelly’s Directory for 1914 “Easington Colliery School for boys, girls and infants when completed will have cost £21,000 for 1296 children; average attendance 320 boys, 310 girls and 325 infants. The building was being considered for demolition in 2006.
