Landulph Methodist Church and Sunday School, Landulph, Cornwall

This Methodist church, with its sunday school attached, is dated 1874. Methodist churches are common in mining areas as many miners were Methodists. Sunday schools were originally provided for children who had to go to work from a young age. Sunday was the only day they had free to go to school. The education would mainly have been learning to read, write and do simple maths. The children would also have learned about religion and bible stories.
