A large Grade II listed building set within a 196 acre park, with fine views across London and beyond to the South, East and West. Founded in 1873 as ‘the people’s palace’ its function is to provide a place of entertainment and leisure. It is used for events such as concerts, exhibitions, conferences and weddings. Permanent facilities include an indoor ice rink and children’s play facilities.
Palace and park open to the public all year round, except Christmas Day. Ice rink open 11:00am - 5:30pm (Monday - Friday), 10:30am - 4:30pm (Saturday and Sunday) and evening sessions at the weekends. Palm Court and Phoenix Bar and Kitchen open 11:00am - 11:00pm daily subject to events within the Great Hall, West Hall and other function rooms. East Court re-opened to the public in December 2018 from 9am - 5pm with extended evening times to service newly re-opened Theatre and season of live events.
Situated between Muswell Hill and Wood Green, Alexandra Palace is well served by all forms of public transport and is easy to reach by underground, road, rail and air. Tube: Wood Green is the nearest underground station on the Piccadilly Line. (journey time is 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus). Exit Wood Green Station and go to bus stop A to pick up the W3 bus up the hill to Alexandra Palace. Rail: Alexandra Palace has its own British Rail Station, fittingly called Alexandra Palace Station. It is located at the Wood Green entrance to the Park. A regular train service runs direct from Moorgate (weekdays only) or from Kings Cross, changing at Finsbury Park. Bus: Take the W3 bus from outside the station to the main Palm Court entrance. Some shows offer a free shuttle bus service from both Wood Green and Alexandra Palace.
