Parish church consecrated in 1220. Chancel and south aisle early 14th century. Fine 14th century wall paintings. Included in Simon Jenkins' book 'England's Thousand Best Churches'. South aisle contains tomb of Sir Nigel Loring (hero of Conan Doyle's 'The White Company'). Beautifully maintained church and grounds described as 'the Gem of Bedfordshire' by former Archdeacon.


Opening Arrangements

All year: Mondays 8am - 2pm, Saturdays 8am - 1pm. The church is normally open on weekday mornings for cleaning and basic maintenance. Access at other times can be arranged with churchwardens (tel: 01582 605561) or the Rector (tel: 01525 872298). key holder details displayed in porch.


2 miles from M1 junction 12. Located in an aisle of horsechesnut trees in the fields adjacent to the A5120 between Toddington and Houghton Regis. Rail: Harlington (4 miles). Infrequent buses but private taxi available at the rail station.
