Ancient church pre 1312. Stranton church is a mixture of styles and stonework. There is some Saxon stonework in the nave. The oldest part of the building is the 12th century semi-circular arch in the east end. The church has an Abbot and Smith organ (1889).

Opening Arrangements

April - October: Tuesday 2pm - 4pm and Saturday 10am - 12pm. The church is also available Monday 10am - 12pm (please note activities are likely to be taking place during this time) and between service times on Sunday 9.30am - 10.15am and 12pm - 12.30pm.

Directions

Stranton Church is at the far end (east) of Elwick Road, coming into town on the A689. The church is diagonally opposite Tesco. Rail: Hartlepool Railway Station ( 1/2 mile) Bus stops on York Road (LMP Motors) 200-300 yards away including No 1 from town centre.
