All Saints, The Village, Dale Abbey, Ilkeston, Derbyshire DE7 4PN View on map

Small grade I listed parish church attached to farmhouse and dating from late 12th century. The door between the church and next door is clearly visible. The chapel is most likely to have been the infirmary to Dale Abbey. The nave and aisle are entirely covered by an upper floor or gallery. 17th century pulpit and original box pews. Reading desk and clerk's pew uniquely positioned behind the altar. Late 13th century wall paintings.

Opening Arrangements

1 April - 31 October Saturdays 9am- 5pm. Key is available at Gateway Nursery during term time and Carpenters Arms public house during opening hours.


Off A6096 Derby to Ilkeston road. In Dale Abbey take road opposite pub, turn left at village green, continue for short distance to a dead end where church is located. Rail: Derby or Nottingham (both 11 miles), Long Eaton (4 miles). Bus: Derby - Ilkeston (1 mile from church).
