Castle House, Taunton Castle

Grade I 15th century lodging house, built by the Bishops of Winchester in the inner bailey of Taunton Castle. Later used as magistrates' lodgings, then in the 19th century as a boarding school and in the 20th as curator's house and offices. Following restoration the ground floor is used as an interpretation centre and the upper floors are let as holiday accommodation by the South West Heritage Trust using Classic Cottages.


Opening Arrangements

All year: Tuesday - Saturday and bank holiday Mondays, 10 - 5pm. Occasionally closed on these days for functions.
