Christ Church, Harley Road

Christ Church, Harley Road, Cressage, Shropshire SY5 6DF View on map

Grade II listed parish church built in 1841 by Edward Haycock to replace the demolished church of St Sampson. Interior has east window containing mid 19th century glass by David Evans of Shrewsbury. Octagonal pulpit dated 1635 was made from re-used panelling in the former church. The circular Romanesque style font is said to be a copy of that in St Sampson.


Opening Arrangements

The church will not be routinely open during the winter months (October to end of April). From May 2017 we aim that the church will be open daily from 10am-4pm but advise that you telephone to check before visiting. Please give one day's notice if possible of visit.
