Christ Church, Wharf Street

Christ Church, Wharf Street, Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire HX6 2LW View on map

Built by John Oates in 1819 and opened in 1821. The chancel was rebuilt in 1873 and has a tessellated floor, elaborate Gothic style stone reredos and a wooden chancel screen of 1935. Victorian stained glass windows.

All year: Tuesday, 9.30am to 12 noon; Saturday, 9.30am to 12 noon (note Communion Service 11.30am to 12 noon). Term time: by prior appointment, Wednesday evening, 6.15pm to 8.45pm. All year: at other times by appointment only by contact with Church Wardens.
