Church of St John sub Castro, Abinger Place

Church of St John sub Castro, Abinger Place, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 1QA View on map

Completed in 1840 near the site of a Saxon/Medieval Church, traces of which remain the churchyard. Alterations to be completed in August 2017 will reinstate the original West gallery and transform the Church into a community hub with cafe, meeting rooms and a 400 seat concert hall.

Opening Arrangements

Owing to internal and external construction work, St John's Church is unlikely to be open for visitors until September 2017 at the earliest. Opening times are therefore scheduled to be for September and October 2017, Saturdays from 9.00am to 4.00pm. However, visitors should check beforehand with the church contact to ensure works have been completed and that the church is open.
