Anglican church 1869 in Early English style, rare remaining example of work by Manchester architect Medland Taylor. Ornate brickwork to east end apse.
On February 12 2017 the Church of the Ascension was destroyed by fire; only the brickwork remains. Work to repair the damage has already begun and will take between two and three years.
